The Eleftherios Venizelos Container Terminal operates at Neo Ikonio. With a throughput of 1.4 million TEUs, Piraeus is placed among the first 10 ports in container traffic in Europe and the top container port in East Mediterranean. Aproximately 50% of the annual traffic is attributed to transshipment containers.

In 2006 the Company, aiming at the modernization of its organization and operation according to private management standards, the improvement of competitiveness, the quality of the service provided, and the safeguard of profitability, realized projects, made changes and took decisions pending for years, setting the foundations for its future development within a rapidly changing external environment.

The vehicle for the development of the Organisation is on one hand the Investment Plan, which for the 5 year period 2007-2011 amounts to 533mil, and on the other hand the development and exploitation of its Real Estate that forms the Companys hidden value.
