A5 IONIAN MOTORWAY
Ionian Motorway, is the western axis, which connects Rio-Antirio with the port of Igoumenitsa and the Egnatia Highway. 196 km long with 16 Interchanges. The Greek State Council has appointed GEK-led consortium Hellenic Autopistas as the provisional contractor for the Ionian Motorway concession, with a construction value of 1.1 billion euro, on-line daily Reporter.gr announced.
Hellenic Autopistas comprises GEK and the two Spanish groups, Cintra and ACS Dragados. The respective construction contractors are TERNA, Ferrovial and Dragados, who will all participate with a 33.3% stake each.
